In the spirit of a true salon exhibition, the walls are covered from floor to ceiling with artwork created by local, regional, and national artists. Opening Reception: Friday, July 23, 5:30 – 7:00pmA community outreach project as well as fundraiser, the Mosaic Project was developed as a means to help raise awareness of the arts and make them accessible for every member of our community. The display, hung in tandem with the Collection Invitational Exhibit, consists of a large-scale mosaic constructed of 300-plus 6-inch by 6-inch canvases. Each artwork is crafted by community members, youth, professional, and amateur artists of all skill levels and ages. Throughout the duration of the exhibit, the general public may purchase numbers (one for each canvas) through a lottery system. At the conclusion of the exhibit, each original work is packaged and sent off to the patron who chose the respective canvas’s number - thus increasing the impact of the project and making original artwork affordable for all. Visitors to the gallery will see the exhibit as an excellent opportunity to see a vast selection of work by many of our area’s finest artists, and art collectors will have a unique opportunity to add a distinctive piece to a personal collection.
